Director of Overture Strings
Arkansas Philharmonic Youth Orchestra
Mrs. Austin has been playing the violin since she was five years old. As a young violin student she performed in a variety of Suzuki groups and chamber ensembles that traveled the United States and Europe. Camille studied at Brigham Young University-Idaho where she received a B.A. in Music Education with an emphasis in violin performance. While attending the university she sat as concert master in several orchestras and won competitions which allowed her to solo with the symphony.
While performing brings her joy, Camille most loves to teach and work with children. She is a Suzuki teacher and has been on the faculty of the Nevada School of the Arts in Las Vegas and the Suzuki School of Granger in Indiana. Camille has taught young and mature students for over 20 years. Currently, Camille enjoys performing with the Arkansas Philharmonic Orchestra and teaching orchestra for the Bentonville Schools. She is also a mother of four wonderful children.
