Jarrett Bastow is an active performer, Suzuki teacher and arts administrator in the Arklassouri radius (Northwest Arkansas, Northeast Oklahoma and Southwest Missouri). His Suzuki training began at Northwestern University when he took Suzuki Pedagogy with Gilda Barston in 2013. He continued his training with notable teacher trainers including Beth Cantrell, Andrea Yun, and Kate Jones for Cello and Bass Units 1-2.
Jarrett is a professional bassist and cellist based in Northwest Arkansas. He is Principal Bass for the Symphony of Northwest Arkansas, Assistant Principal Bass for Springfield (MO) Symphony Orchestra, Section Bass for Tulsa Symphony and Section Bass for Arkansas Philharmonic Orchestra. Jarrett has performed with Signature, Bartlesville, Arkansas, Texarkana and Shreveport Symphonies.
Jarrett is also the Personnel Manager of Symphony of Northwest Arkansas and Arkansas Philharmonic Orchestra. He frequently collaborates with the Walton Arts Center for the CineConcert performances at the Walmart Arkansas Music Pavilion.
Jarrett’s principal teachers include Erik Johnson, Nicholas Walker and Andrew Raciti. He earned his Bachelor of Music from Ithaca College (’11), Master of Music from Northwestern University (’13), Master of Arts Leadership and Cultural Management from Colorado State (’18) and a Graduate Certificate in Change Management from Cornell University (’19).
